non-automatic

It's hard for me to find inspiration outside of my children, or my subjects but I suppose that's because it's my comfort zone. I did however make it out to the nature center to play around with my settings. I also went to Navy Pier and took a few shots. These are my favorites.

  1. The picture of your daughter is beatiful. I feel like I can get a glimpse of her personality just by looking at it. This is a very successful photograph.

  2. The photo of the city encompassed by dismal grey clouds is very mystical. With the bases of the buildings covered, the city appears to be floating adding to it's arcane nature. I enjoy the use of natural light as i don't think this photo would be the same without it. Very nice pic

  3. I would have to agree with JWOLLACH on the city shot. The floating city creates a sort of illusion that complicates the mind. What are we really seeing in front of these building. Is it clouds? Is it smog? Is it fog? I can't really tell, but the composition allows for the mind to settle and focus on different parts of the frame as different scenes. There is multiple stories in this photo. Nice work.
